New stuff for Final Fantasy IV Advance, Secret of Mana, and Sword of Mana. Go forth and look!

Shiny skills and more APNGs
Posted by: taarna23 February 24, 2008
In a trend begun by Hologram both in animation type and sprite source, I now give you more Maple Story sprites, this time in the form of skill graphics. Added today were all of the animations, still frames and icons for the skill group Beginner's Basics

Also, as the skills all contain partial transparency, the animations are all in the animated PNG format. If you can't see the cool little animation here, you'll need to go find the Firefox 3 beta, or alternatively, Opera v9.5.

Sword of Mana
Posted by: Hologram November 19, 2007
Long, long ago,
there was a goddess.

She cherished all life and
transformed herself into a Mana
Tree to watch over the world.

Thus the legend began.

Partially Transparent Sprites?
Posted by: Hologram November 1, 2007
Today's update is going to be a little different. I've recently got into the game Maple Story, and as usual for any 2-D game I happen to play, I look into capturing sprites from it. Closer inspection of Maple Story's sprites revealed that a lot of the monsters (slimes and ghosts) have slightly translucent features to them. Of course, GIF format only supports 256 colors and does not support partial transparency. I tried to get around this by making MNGs, but couldn't find any browser to support to the MNG extension. I knew that PNG supported partial transparency, and further investigation revealed information about an animated PNG file (APNG) that was recently developed, and would be supported in Firefox 3.

So, to make a long story short, sprites that contain partial transparency are now going to be in animated PNG format. Right now Gran Paradiso, a beta release of Firefox 3, is the only browser to support APNGS.

The two APNGs in question are "Voodoo" (the sprite contained within this newspost), and "Nospeed".

Happy Halloween!
Posted by: Hologram October 31, 2007
So what if Halloween is going to be over in 10 minutes... this is still a Halloween update!

I redid the Secret of Mana section. Re-captured all of the old sprites to remove shadows (which are not actually part of the sprite, but a seperate sprite underneath). AND, since it's Halloween, I added MONSTERS! Be prepared to see a lot more work done to the Secret of Mana page.

Gomu Gomu no UPDATE!

After eating the "update update" fruit, I finally have the power to update! Therefore, I have added One Piece: Grand Battle to the Wonderswan section...
